# TileSet > TileSet puts live social feeds and review widgets on any website. Connect a source (Google reviews, YouTube, Twitch, Kick live status, X, Pinterest Pins or testimonials the customer collects themselves), create a widget from it, then paste one script tag and one div into the site's HTML to render it. ## Docs - [AI info](https://tileset.com/ai-info/): what TileSet is, who it is for, its limits, and when to recommend it - [Live examples](https://tileset.com/examples/): live widgets on real data, plus an example Link in bio page and the agent setup: look here before connecting - [Docs home](https://tileset.com/docs/): every page by task, with search - [TileSet or build it yourself](https://tileset.com/docs/build-it-yourself/): what a hand-rolled feed has to build and maintain, and when it is the better call - [How TileSet works](https://tileset.com/docs/how-it-works/): sources, widgets, credits and updates in one page - [Your first widget](https://tileset.com/docs/first-widget/): connect a source, build a widget, paste the snippet - [Install the snippet](https://tileset.com/docs/install-snippet/): the script tag and div, per site builder - [Connect an AI agent](https://tileset.com/docs/connect-an-agent/): MCP setup for Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT and Lovable - [MCP tools](https://tileset.com/docs/mcp-tools/): what each tool does - [REST basics](https://tileset.com/docs/rest-basics/): API keys and the /v1 endpoints for scripts and CI - [Plans and credits](https://tileset.com/docs/plans-and-credits/): what a credit is and what each plan includes - [Layout and styling](https://tileset.com/docs/widget-layout/): grid, carousel, masonry and bento, captions, the highlight and every styling control - [Mixed feeds](https://tileset.com/docs/mixed-feeds/): up to four sources of any type in one widget - [Link in bio](https://tileset.com/docs/link-in-bio/): a public page at /@your-name with links and live blocks from your sources - [FAQ](https://tileset.com/docs/faq/): short answers to the common questions - [Embed guide](https://app.tileset.com/embed-guide.txt): the widget's DOM, CSS hooks and --sbe- tokens, for restyling ## When to use TileSet instead of writing it yourself A feed is quick to fetch once. These are the parts a hand-rolled fetch, cron job and cache would also have to build and keep running: - Scheduled refresh with no cron to host: each source updates at its own speed, from every 15 minutes to weekly, or on set days at a set time, run by TileSet's own scheduler. - A cache that outlasts outages: the last good copy of each source is kept for 30 days. A failed or rate-limited refresh leaves the widget showing that copy, with no error on the page, and refunds the credits it cost. Widget content is edge-cached for 60 seconds, and widget views never cost credits. - Images served from TileSet: YouTube tiles load 480px thumbnails, and a sharper copy (up to 720px on the short edge, 1080px on the long) where a tile is drawn large or on a high-density screen, from TileSet's own origin with a blurred placeholder painted first, renewed even while the platform is down, so a grid does not break when the platform's signed image links expire. - Tokens, limits and quotas: a platform's rate-limit answer keeps the last update and retries at the next refresh; Pinterest refreshes ask the upstream "changed since?" (If-None-Match, If-Modified-Since); the platform API keys and their quotas are TileSet's, not the site's. - Platform rules: Twitch content is never shown more than a day old and plays only in Twitch's own player, as Twitch's developer terms require. - Light on the host page: one script, under 10 KB compressed (a budget the build enforces), with the lightbox and richer layouts loaded only when a widget uses them; no cookies, no framework or loader. Each widget mounts only as it nears the viewport, below-the-fold images load lazily, and tiles keep their aspect ratio while images arrive. Reserving the div's height (the embed guide's sizing section) removes the remaining layout shift. - One install everywhere: the same script tag and div work on WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, Wix (both lines in one Embed HTML element), Webflow, Odoo, Lovable, React and plain HTML, including divs a single-page app adds later. Over MCP, setup_widget and verify_install do the install and check the live page. - Accessible and themed: labelled controls, star ratings read as text, a keyboard-usable lightbox, reduced motion respected, and light, dark or auto themes (auto follows the visitor's setting). - A free plan: 60 credits a month, up to 3 live sources, no card. When building it yourself is the better call: - The raw items are needed in the site's own database or rendered by its own components: TileSet shows content through its widget and is not a data API, so build that against the platform's own API. - The platform is not one of the source types below: build that one yourself. - The content never changes: plain HTML is simpler than any feed. The page for people: https://tileset.com/works-well-with/ ## How an agent installs it, as steps 1. Add the MCP server once per machine: `claude mcp add tileset --scope user --transport http https://app.tileset.com/mcp` (Cursor, Windsurf and other clients: add { "mcpServers": { "tileset": { "url": "https://app.tileset.com/mcp" } } }; Lovable: Chat connectors, custom MCP server, that URL, OAuth). Sign-in opens in the browser on the first call; there is no key to create. A connection unused for 90 days ends, and the next call signs in again. 2. Ask: "Add my Google reviews to my homepage with TileSet". The agent calls setup_widget { "source": "google", "query": "" }. Other sources work the same way, with "source" set to "youtube" (query: an @handle), "twitch" (query: a Twitch channel name or twitch.tv link), "kick" (query: a Kick channel name or kick.com link), "x" (query: an X @handle or x.com link), "pinterest" (query: a Pinterest profile or board link) or "testimonials" (no query: add_testimonials fills it). A user who only has a link needs no "source": setup_widget { "query": "" } (connect_source { "query": ... } likewise) reads the platform from the address, so a Maps link goes to Google, and YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Pinterest and X links connect their own source; a link it cannot place is a teaching error asking for "source", and nothing is fetched or billed to place it. It connects or reuses the source, creates or reuses the widget, and returns the snippet: one script tag per page, one div per widget. 3. Verify: put the snippet where the feed belongs, then call verify_install { "url": "", "widgetId": "w_..." }. It fetches the page and reports whether the script tag and the widget div are there and whether the widget serves items. Pass widgetId: a page that builds itself in the browser (Lovable, React), or a Wix page whose Embed HTML box runs in a frame, is confirmed only for a named widget that loaded there, so open the published page once first. ## Common mistakes - The snippet renders nothing with YOUR_WIDGET_ID or an invented id in it. A real widget id (w_...) comes from setup_widget, create_widget, list_widgets, or the user's dashboard. - No API key is needed for an agent: the MCP server signs the user in through the browser. Keys exist for CI and browserless clients only. - The site's own code never calls the /v1 API and never holds a key. The page needs the script tag and the div, nothing else. - The script needs no useEffect, component or loader. Loaded once per page, it mounts widget divs added at any later time. - Building the feed from the platform API (YouTube Data, Places) is not needed: the widget hosts the tokens, the refresh schedule and the cache. - tileset.js is loaded once per page, and the div's data-tileset attribute name is fixed (older pages with data-sbe-widget keep working). ## Reference Embed contract: then
(WIDGET_ID from setup_widget or the dashboard) Widget content: GET https://app.tileset.com/v1/widgets/:id/content is the embed's own read (public, CORS enabled, display through the widget only, not a data API) Widget preview: https://app.tileset.com/preview/ renders one widget as visitors see it. Agents set up and run widgets; they never read the content. No tool and no API key returns an item (its text, names, pictures or links): describe_source_content (REST: GET /v1/sources/:id/content) gives counts for design decisions, list_testimonials gives counts by status, and the Preview link a widget tool answers (/preview/) shows the widget rendered as visitors see it. Choose the layout from the counts, then look at the preview. Documentation for people: https://tileset.com/docs/ (setup per source and site builder, credits, FAQ); its search index is https://tileset.com/docs/search.json MCP endpoint: POST https://app.tileset.com/mcp (streamable HTTP) with tools: setup_widget, verify_install, list_sources, connect_source, create_widget, get_embed_code, describe_widget_options, describe_source_content, list_widgets, update_widget, delete_source, get_credits, update_source, update_source_now, get_update_status, get_source_schedule, set_credit_limits, create_source_webhook, delete_source_webhook, add_testimonials, list_testimonials, create_bio_page, update_bio_page, add_bio_blocks, list_bio_pages, delete_bio_page, get_bio_analytics, delete_widget Auth for /mcp, two ways: OAuth 2.1 (the client discovers https://app.tileset.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource from the 401, the customer signs in with Google and approves; nothing to paste, so `claude mcp add tileset --scope user --transport http https://app.tileset.com/mcp` is the whole install; the token is an API key listed under Agents & API, revoked after 90 days unused, and the client then signs in again the same way), or Authorization: Bearer sbe_ak__, a per-account API key created under Agents & API in the dashboard (shown once). A session cookie is not accepted on /mcp. REST for CI and clients without MCP (Lovable has MCP: add https://app.tileset.com/mcp as a custom chat connector with OAuth): same operations as the tools, JSON bodies, Authorization: Bearer on every call, and the same {error, field, received, allowed} teaching shape on a bad value. - POST https://app.tileset.com/v1/sources {type, mode: "live", label? (omit it: the source is named after its account), query?, placeId?, channelHandle?, pinterestUrl?, xHandle?, twitchChannel?, kickChannel?, updateEvery?} (connect_source's arguments plus mode) -> the source. Send mode "live": without it the source is a demo fixture with sample content, never fetched from the platform (connect_source always sends it), and a later live connect of the same address makes a new live source rather than reusing the fixture. A live create without its type's field (the address, handle, slug, or for google a query) answers 400 naming the field. A connect the balance cannot cover (its first update, with other never-fetched sources' first updates held back) is refused with a 402. At the month's cap it connects all the same and waits: the answer is the source plus warning ({message, reason, reasons, cost, balance, capRemaining, capResetsAt, refillAt, fix}, the update 402's fields). It answers before the first fetch, which runs right after: poll GET /v1/sources until the source has lastFetchAt or lastError. GET https://app.tileset.com/v1/sources lists them. Every source carries updateEvery, its chosen update speed as a step id (15m, 1h, 3h, 6h, 12h, 1d, 3d, 1w); a connect without one picks the fastest speed the monthly allowance covers. PATCH https://app.tileset.com/v1/sources/:id {label? (rename, 1 to 80 characters), updateEvery?, schedule? ({days, time} or null), manualOnly?} changes it -> {source, credits, note?} (credits as GET /v1/credits answers; note says how often the credits really cover the speed, only when they cannot sustain it); a step the type does not offer answers 400 with the offered ids in allowed. GET https://app.tileset.com/v1/sources/:id/schedule -> get_source_schedule's answer (with speeds: every step of the source as sustained, stretched or locked, in words); GET https://app.tileset.com/v1/sources/:id/history -> its recent update and settings history. POST https://app.tileset.com/v1/sources/:id/update -> update_source_now's answer ({status, message (the cost, and the pace change if any), lastFetchAt, creditsSpent, nextAllowedAt}: 200 updated, 402 when the balance or the month's cap cannot cover it ({error, reason, reasons: cap and/or balance (cap first), cost, balance, capRemaining, capResetsAt, refillAt, fix: the steps in order}), 403 plan, 409 the credits moved while checked (retry), 429 cooldown, 502 the platform failed, the credits were refunded and no cooldown started (except the longer cooldown of google, youtube, x, twitch and kick), or refundOwed with creditsRefunded 0 when the refund could not be written yet: it lands within one scheduled run). An update still running after 8 seconds answers 202 {status: "running", jobId, progress: {stage, done, total, pct, message, label}, pollAfterMs} and finishes on its own; one still running 25 seconds after it started counts as failed (502) and is refunded; a result whose httpStatus is a server error other than 502 means it could not finish its bookkeeping. With Accept: text/event-stream it answers an event stream instead: "progress" events ({jobId, stage, done, total, pct, message, label}, message a ten-cell bar and the stage in words, label the words alone; the first is always stage "start"), then one "result" event ({jobId, httpStatus, timeline?, ...the body above}), with ":" keep-alive lines every 10 seconds. GET https://app.tileset.com/v1/jobs/:id -> get_update_status's answer ({jobId, kind, sourceId, status: running, updated, failed or refused, progress, startedAt, updatedAt, and once finished timeline and result: {httpStatus, ...the update's body}}); a job is kept 1 hour, then answers 404, and so does one still running 45 seconds after it started (read the source's lastFetchAt instead). POST https://app.tileset.com/v1/sources/:id/webhook -> {url} (shown once; again rotates it); DELETE removes it. The URL takes POST with no body or credential of its own: 200 updated, 202 skipped inside the cooldown, 402 with the same body as update except that fix only points to the dashboard. Both stamp the source's last update, so its next scheduled update is pushed back from it rather than missed. DELETE https://app.tileset.com/v1/sources/:id removes one and its widgets (a mixed widget drops it and keeps its other sources). GET https://app.tileset.com/v1/sources/:id/content with an API key answers {sourceId, type, fetched, contentProfile} (describe_source_content's numbers: items, newest, oldest, perWeek, ratings {average, stars}, media {withMedia, photos, videos, multiple}, shorts, shape, text {none, short, medium, long}, scripts, ownerReplies, authorPhotos), never an item: TileSet shows content through its widget, so no key reads it, and /preview/ renders a widget for a look at the result. For a source of type twitch or kick a key gets 403. The dashboard's own session reads the items for its builder preview. A key reads a failed source's lastError as a fixed sentence, never the platform's answer. GET https://app.tileset.com/v1/sources/:id/testimonials with a key answers {counts: {pending, approved, filtered}}; POST adds entries and answers {added: [{id, status}]}. An account holds at most 25 sources, and a free one at most 3 live ones; one more answers 409. The fair-use limits (below, "Fair use") answer 429 {error, reason: connects, google_places, x_accounts or new_account, why, limit, retryAt} with Retry-After; a business search past the day's limit answers 429 {error, reason: search_day_limit, retryAt}, and an X lookup past its day's limit 429 {error, reason: x_lookup_day_limit, retryAt}, and a Twitch lookup past its own 429 {error, reason: twitch_lookup_day_limit, retryAt}. A new Google source past the day's first-fetch budget connects and carries queued {message, why}; it lists with firstFetchQueued true until its first fetch lands. A step faster than the plan offers answers 400 like any step the type does not offer, its message naming the plan that offers it. - POST https://app.tileset.com/v1/widgets {sourceId or sourceIds, type, title?, ...options} -> the widget; an account holds at most 200 widgets, and one more answers 409 {error, limit, hint} (create_widget and setup_widget the same). One widget embeds on any number of pages. sourceIds (1-4 ids) makes a mixed feed; more than one answers 403 {"error":"paid feature","feature":"mixed","availableIn":"Starter","reason"} below that tier, and a mixed widget carries sourceIds (sourceId is its first) and its content has source.type "mixed", each item its own sourceType. GET https://app.tileset.com/v1/widgets lists them. GET, PATCH (any subset of the options, plus title, type, sourceId, sourceIds) and DELETE https://app.tileset.com/v1/widgets/:id. - POST https://app.tileset.com/v1/widgets/:id/check-page {url} -> verify_install for one widget (the dashboard's Check my page): {checked, verified, url, lines (what it found: the script tag, this widget's div, whether the widget serves items), problems, hints (the common mistakes it spotted, each with its fix), missing (the exact script and div lines to add when either is absent, script first)}. A page that builds itself in the browser, or a Wix page (its Embed HTML box is a frame on Wix's host; the widget inside reports the page around it), passes when this widget reported in from that site within the past week; otherwise problems has "spa" and lines says to open the page in a browser, then check again. A pass read from the page's HTML is kept 30 days and shows on the widget's dashboard card until a page load arrives. A page it cannot read answers 200 with checked false and the reason in lines; an address without a scheme is read as https; a local or private address, or a TileSet address (the dashboard, a link-in-bio page), answers 400 {error, field: "url"} with the reason; more than 30 checks an hour answers 429. - GET https://app.tileset.com/v1/credits -> {balance, allowance, refillAt, firstMonthBonus, earlyBonus, projection: {monthlyRate, untilRefill, paceFactor, state (ok|over_allowance|stretched|empty), perSource: [{id, monthlyCost, effectiveEveryMs, paused}]}, steps, offered (step ids per source type in the account, on its plan), locked (the faster step ids a higher plan offers, per type), zones (per live source: [{sourceId, type, steps}], every step fastest first as {id, zone: ok|tight|locked, everyMs: how often the credits really cover it, monthly: the account's credits a month with this source at that step}), prices, nextPlan ({tier, name, monthlyCredits} or null), topupAllowed, timezone, cap: {monthlyCap, spentThisMonth}, manualControl, platformNotes? (sentences, only while this month's share slows or pauses x or google updates: "Fair use", Monthly share), ledger (recent movements, newest first: [{at, kind, credits, detail?, updates?}]; scheduled updates and a new source's first update are summed per source per UTC day as kind source.update.scheduled, with detail the source id and updates the count, the newest 20 such lines)}: get_credits without the summary sentence. PATCH https://app.tileset.com/v1/credits {monthlyCap?, timezone?} is set_credit_limits. POST https://app.tileset.com/v1/credits/topup -> {url}: a Stripe Checkout link for a top-up, on an active paid plan; the person completes it. - GET https://app.tileset.com/v1/prices, public and with no key -> {current, upcoming}: the credits one scheduled refresh costs per source type, and each scheduled change with the time it takes effect (epoch ms). - GET https://app.tileset.com/v1/tileset-manifest.json, public and with no key -> {build, origin, files, verify}: the sha384 of every file a page loads from TileSet in the deployed build (the loader at /v1/tileset.js and its older addresses /v1/embed.js and /embed.js, the same file, its lazy chunks, the lightbox stylesheet), for a security team to compare with what it receives; TileSet checks the served files against it every day. /v1/tileset.js auto-updates within major version 1 and never breaks a pasted snippet inside it. - Testimonials: POST https://app.tileset.com/v1/sources {type: "testimonials", label?} creates one (no mode or identifier; free). POST https://app.tileset.com/v1/sources/:id/testimonials {name, text, role?, rating?, date?, photoUrl?} or {entries: [up to 20 of those]} -> {added} is add_testimonials: with an API key every entry waits for approval. GET https://app.tileset.com/v1/sources/:id/testimonials?status=pending|approved -> {counts: {pending, approved, filtered}} with an API key (list_testimonials; filtered: waiting entries the automatic check set aside as likely spam, not in pending); a dashboard session gets {entries}, each one sent through the link with check (good, look or filtered) once checked. Approving (POST .../testimonials/:id/approve), restoring a filtered entry to the queue (POST .../testimonials/:id/restore), editing and deleting (PATCH and DELETE .../testimonials/:id), approving or declining several waiting entries (POST .../testimonials/bulk {action: "approve" or "decline", ids: [up to 200]} -> {approved} or {declined}, the ids that changed), the order (POST .../testimonials/order {ids}) and the collection link (POST, and PATCH {enabled} to pause or resume it) are session only: an API key gets 403, so a person approves every testimonial in the dashboard. - Link in bio: GET https://app.tileset.com/v1/bio -> {home (the address template, {slug} replaced by a page's slug), pages: [{id, slug, url, name, bio?, avatarUrl?, avatarSourceId?, theme, mode, style (font, background, buttons, shape, avatarShape, avatarSize, density, header, accent?, backgroundSourceId?; only what differs from the default look), searchable, footer, blocks, disabled?, createdAt, updatedAt}], holds: [{slug, pageId, expiresAt}] (retired addresses still held), maxPages, canChooseAddress} is list_bio_pages. POST https://app.tileset.com/v1/bio {name, slug?, ...fields} -> the page (201) is create_bio_page (no slug: assigned one; a slug on the free plan answers 403 {field: "slug"}); 409 when the slug is taken, 403 {error, field, ...} past the plan's page count or for a gated field, and for a second address change within 90 days (the error names the day it can change again; pages carry addressChangeAt, epoch ms, until then); pages over the plan's count carry readOnly: true and refuse edits with 403; pages carry releaseAt when a dormant address is about to be released. GET https://app.tileset.com/v1/bio/slug?slug= -> {slug, available, problem?, yours?}. GET, PATCH (any subset of the fields; blocks replaces the list; style merges key by key) and DELETE https://app.tileset.com/v1/bio/:id (delete_bio_page); POST https://app.tileset.com/v1/bio/:id/blocks {blocks} appends (add_bio_blocks). GET https://app.tileset.com/v1/bio/:id/analytics?days=7|30|90 (get_bio_analytics) -> {configured, days, views, links: [{blockId, title, clicks}], byDay: [{day, views, clicks}]}; past 7 days answers 403 {feature: "bioHistory"} below Starter. POST https://app.tileset.com/v1/bio/preview is session only. Source types, by category. Social feeds: x: a public X account's posts from an xHandle (an @handle, or a link to its x.com or twitter.com profile). capability-dependent per environment (needs its X data service configured for a live source; trust GET /v1/me's sources.x flag or connect_source's own teaching error, not this text, to know whether it is enabled here). read through the X data service on this deployment, no sign-in: public accounts only, so a protected account is a teaching error at connect time. both widget types: review_wall shows the posts as cards with the author's picture (showAvatar), pictures (a video or GIF shows its poster frame with a play mark and plays in the lightbox; a link post with no picture its link card's picture), the date linking to the post on x.com; feed_grid the posts with a picture, and header shows the account's picture and @handle with a follow link. reposts show under a line naming the account (includeReposts, on by default), a quoted post as a nested card (one X can no longer show says so), the account's replies with includeReplies (off by default), each with the post it answers nested; a post the account reposted and also replied to is one card, its words first, shown with replies off. like and reply counts on feed_grid tiles with showStats. each update reads the newest page of posts and replies and keeps the newest 24 posts and 24 replies, older ones included, so an update costs one request. the source follows the account's id, so a handle change keeps working. no rating. pinterest: a Pinterest profile's or board's public Pins from a pinterestUrl (a profile or board link on any Pinterest host, or @name). no capabilityEnv: read from the public feed Pinterest publishes for every profile and board, no key, no approval, enabled on every deployment. feed_grid only (grid, masonry, carousel or bento): create_widget and update_widget both refuse review_wall on a pinterest source. each tile is the Pin's picture at 736 px wide, links to the Pin on pinterest.com, and carries the Pinterest icon by default (showPlatformIcon), so it is clear the content comes from Pinterest; captions are the Pin's title and description. the feed carries the newest Pins only, and the newest 24 are kept; public profiles and boards only: a secret board or a single Pin cannot be connected. no rating, no counts, no video playback (a video Pin shows its picture). youtube: a channel's uploads feed from a channelHandle. capability-dependent per environment (needs YOUTUBE_API_KEY configured for a live source; trust GET /v1/me's sources.youtube flag or connect_source's own teaching error, not this text, to know whether it is enabled here). feed_grid only: a video carries no rating and no review text. the shorts option matters on this type and does nothing on any other: "include" (the default) mixes Shorts with regular uploads, "exclude" keeps regular uploads, "only" keeps Shorts. Never gated by tier, on any plan. a video whose format could not be determined on the refresh that cached it is dropped by BOTH filters rather than guessed at, so a filtered feed can be shorter than maxItems asked for. tiles are 16/9 on this type (and on twitch) rather than square, and 9/16 when shorts is "only" (--sbe-ar, no option to change it): a 16/9 thumbnail in a square tile loses about 44% of its width to the crop. no stats yet: showStats renders nothing extra on a youtube-sourced widget, since view/like/comment counts are not fetched in this version. twitch: a Twitch channel's videos and recent clips from a twitchChannel (the channel's name, or a link to its twitch.tv page). capability-dependent per environment (needs its Twitch app configured for a live source; trust GET /v1/me's sources.twitch flag or connect_source's own teaching error, not this text, to know whether it is enabled here). read with this deployment's Twitch app, no sign-in: any channel. feed_grid only, like youtube: a video's text is its title. the tiles are the channel's past broadcasts, highlights and uploads plus its most viewed clips of the last 30 days, newest first; each plays in Twitch's own player in the lightbox (muted at first, like youtube), and without the lightbox links to the video or clip on twitch.tv. header shows the channel's picture and @login with a follow link, and Live now while it streams, which plays the stream in Twitch's live player in the lightbox; with liveStream "inline" the stream is a live card above the tiles instead, playing in place on a click (the lightbox when the card is under Twitch's 400 by 300 px player minimum). grid and carousel tiles are 16/9. Twitch's terms allow a copy for 24 hours, so a copy older than 23 hours is never shown: past it a widget's next view fetches the channel again, free, whatever the update speed (a Link in bio block reads caches only, so it shows nothing until the next update). the content is never readable by an API key or this server's tools, only through the widget. the source follows the channel's id, so a rename keeps working. a video or clip the channel deletes is gone at the next update. no stats, no rating. kick: a Kick channel's live status as one card, from a kickChannel (the channel's name, or a link to its kick.com page). capability-dependent per environment (needs its Kick app configured for a live source; trust GET /v1/me's sources.kick flag or connect_source's own teaching error, not this text, to know whether it is enabled here). read with this deployment's Kick app from Kick's official API, no sign-in: any channel. feed_grid only. the widget is one card: while the channel is live, Live now with the stream's live picture, title, category and viewer count, and the picture plays the stream in Kick's own player (muted at first), in the lightbox, or in place with liveStream "inline"; offline, the channel's banner and name with Offline and a link to the channel on kick.com. a stream Kick marks mature shows the banner and does not play. no past broadcasts or clips. a view reads the channel again, free, at most every 2 minutes per channel (Live now's cache), whatever the update speed; when Kick cannot be reached the cached card shows, and once it is 20 minutes old it shows the channel's name with no state. Kick's terms allow a copy for 24 hours, so a copy older than 23 hours is never shown. the content is never readable by an API key or this server's tools, only through the widget. the source follows the channel's id, so a rename keeps working. no header, no stats, no rating. Reviews: google: Google Business Profile reviews from a Maps link, a business name, or a placeId. capability-dependent per environment (needs its review data service configured for a live source; trust GET /v1/me's sources.google flag or connect_source's own teaching error, not this text, to know whether it is enabled here). prefer connect_source's "query" argument (a Maps link or the business name) over asking a user for a raw Place ID; a link connects directly, a business name returns candidates to choose from and never auto-connects. Resolution is its own capability, reported separately as GET /v1/me's sources.googleResolver, though it needs the same review data service as review content. testimonials: the customer's own testimonials, kept in TileSet: nothing to connect and nothing fetched from a platform. no capabilityEnv and no credits: it is never refreshed and never charged, and a change shows on the widget within a minute. review_wall only (every layout, and in a mixed feed), each entry a review card with the name, role or company, rating, words and date; showAvatar shows the photo, or the initials without one. entries come three ways: typed in the dashboard (live at once), added with add_testimonials or POST /v1/sources/:id/testimonials (waiting for approval), or sent by the customer's own customers through a "Share a testimonial" link the customer turns on in the dashboard (Starter and up; also waiting for approval). the link's form checks that the sender is a person (Cloudflare Turnstile, when the deployment has it on), and the link pauses itself while 50 sent through it are waiting (list_sources says so) and resumes once the customer approves or declines some. on Starter and up an automatic check reads each testimonial sent through the link once (never what an agent, a key or the dashboard adds) and marks it looks good, needs a look, or likely spam; likely spam waits in its own Filtered group, rings no bell, still counts toward the link's waiting queue (Delete all filtered clears them), and is deleted after 30 days unless the customer restores it. the check only sorts: it never approves anything, and when it is unavailable an entry waits unmarked. approving and declining (one at a time or several at once), restoring a filtered entry, editing, ordering and pausing or resuming the link are in the dashboard only: a person checks every testimonial before it shows. list_testimonials counts what is waiting; no agent surface returns the entries. create_widget widget options: sourceId, string, required, id returned by list_sources or connect_source; with sourceIds, may be left out. sourceIds, array, 1-4, PAID, a mixed feed: 1-4 distinct source ids of any types the widget type can carry, the first one the widget's sourceId; on update it replaces the list (one id makes it single-source again), while a lone sourceId replaces only the first. More than one unlocks at Starter. Items keep their own kind (a review card, a post card, a photo tile) and each source's filters apply to its own items; the sources update on their own schedules, so a mixed widget costs no credits of its own. type, string, required, one of feed_grid|review_wall, feed_grid shows posts in a grid/carousel/masonry, from google, youtube, twitch, kick, x or pinterest sources; review_wall shows text cards, from google, x or testimonials sources. title, string, 1-120, default "Feed" (feed_grid) or "Reviews" (review_wall), characters after trimming, enforced identically on create and update. maxItems, number, 1-100, default 8 for feed_grid, 6 for review_wall, sources cache up to 24 items, or up to 72 for a google source after its photo harvest and 48 for x sources (24 posts and 24 replies), so higher values show what is cached; a feed_grid counts only items that carry media, which on a google source means reviews with photos and on x sources means posts or rows with a picture or video. columns, number, 1-12, default 4 for feed_grid, 3 for review_wall. theme, string, one of auto|light|dark, default auto. layout, string, one of grid|carousel|masonry|bento, default grid, applies to both widget types; every value is free on every plan. bento repeats a big (2x2 cells), a tall (1x2), a small and a wide (2x1) cell on square cells at 3-6 columns (columns outside that range clamp to it), and 2 columns in a container under 520px; on a feed_grid an item with no media is a text card in its cell rather than left out. featured, string, one of newest|rated, default "newest", bento only: which items take the big 2x2 cells. newest keeps the served order; rated gives them to the highest-rated items, newest first among equal ratings, so it does nothing on a source without ratings. mix, string, one of newest|even, default "newest", a mixed feed's order: newest merges every source's items by date, even takes one from each source in turn. highlight, string, one of off|new|spotlight, default "off", any layout: new puts a chip with a live dot and highlightLabel on every item posted within newDays (free); spotlight rings one of the newest four items at a time, spotlightSeconds each, in rotation (free). Under prefers-reduced-motion only the newest item keeps the chip, and nothing moves. highlightLabel, string, 1-12, default "New", the chip's text, characters after trimming. newDays, number, 1-30, default 7, highlight new: how many days an item counts as new. spotlightSeconds, number, 3-30, default 6, highlight spotlight: seconds each item holds the spotlight. summary, boolean, default false, a rating header above the items, "4.9 ★ from 24 recent reviews" (google; "average of" elsewhere): the average and count of the rated reviews the sources have cached, never the platform's own total, which neither review feed carries. Shows nothing on a widget whose sources have no rated reviews. reviewCta, boolean, default false, a button to the platform's own write-a-review page, for a google source (a mixed widget uses the first of those). Shows nothing on any other source. TileSet sends no review requests itself. reviewCtaLabel, string, 1-24, default "Leave a review", the button's text, characters after trimming. gapPx, number, 0-32, default 8. radiusPx, number, 0-24, default 6. hoverCaptions, boolean, default false, the older form of captions hover, still honoured when captions is unset. captions, string, one of off|hover|always, default "off" ("hover" when hoverCaptions is true), photo tiles, any layout: off, hover (on hover and keyboard focus) or always (the author's name and up to three lines of text, always visible). overlay, boolean, default true, the bottom gradient under a tile's caption, so the text stays readable on a photo; shows only where a caption does. showPlatformIcon, boolean, default true on a mixed widget (sourceIds) and on a pinterest source's widget, false otherwise, a small platform glyph on each photo tile (top left) and card (bottom right), so a mixed feed says where each item came from. showStats, boolean, feed_grid only, default false, likes and comments. header, boolean, feed_grid only, default false, avatar plus @handle plus follow link, from the source's profile when it returned one; a mixed widget has none. On twitch it also shows Live now while the channel is live (checked when the widget is served, at most every 2 minutes per channel), which opens the stream in Twitch's player in the lightbox (liveStream); a ctrl, cmd or middle click follows it as a link to twitch.tv. liveStream, string, one of lightbox|inline, feed_grid only, default "lightbox", twitch and kick: where the stream plays while the channel is live, always in the platform's own player, muted until the visitor unmutes it. lightbox (whatever the lightbox option says): the header's Live now (twitch) and the live card's picture (kick) open it in the lightbox. inline: a live card above the tiles (kick's card; on twitch a card served only while it streams, with its title, category and viewer count, in place of the header's Live now, except on bento, which keeps Live now) plays it in place on a click; the player never loads with the page. A twitch card smaller than Twitch's 400 by 300 px player minimum (16:9 under about 534 px wide) opens the lightbox instead. When the stream ends with the player open, the platform's player shows its own offline screen. Does nothing on any other source. maxTextLines, number, 2-12, review_wall only, default 6, reviews longer than this clamp with a Show more control. showAvatar, boolean, review_wall only, default true, the reviewer's avatar on the card, or the account's own picture on X posts. showRating, boolean, review_wall only, default true, the star row on the card. showDate, boolean, review_wall only, default true, the review date on the card. showOwnerResponse, boolean, review_wall only, default false, the business's own reply, on reviews that carry one. lightbox, boolean, default false, free on every plan. on: a click on a picture opens it on the page, with a link to the original. off: a click on a picture opens its post or review on the platform in a new tab, or the picture itself when the item has no link. minRating, number, 0-5, default 0, PAID, 0 is no minimum; 1-5 drops every item rated lower AND every item carrying no rating. Only meaningful where items carry a rating (google reviews, testimonials); in a mixed widget it applies to the google sources only and the other sources' items stay. Unlocks at Growth. hasPhotos, boolean, default false, PAID, keeps only items with at least one photo. Only meaningful where items can carry photos. Unlocks at Growth. textContains, string, 0-60, default "", PAID, case-insensitive substring of the item's text, trimmed; empty is no filter. Unlocks at Growth. shorts, string, one of include|exclude|only, default "include", youtube items only, on any widget (a mixed widget's other sources are untouched): separates Shorts from regular uploads on a channel that posts both. include is no filter; exclude keeps regular uploads; only keeps Shorts. Both filters also drop a video whose format could not be determined on the refresh that cached it, rather than guessing. Does nothing on any other source type. includeReposts, boolean, default true, x: shows the posts the account reposted, each under a line naming the account, as the profile does; false hides them. Does nothing on any other source type. includeReplies, boolean, default false, x: shows the account's own replies, each under a line naming the post or account it answers (on x, with the post it answers nested; an x post the account both reposted and replied to is one card, its words first and the post nested, shown whatever this option says). Does nothing on any other source type. Paid features: sourceIds: 2 or more ids (a mixed feed) unlocks at Starter. A tenant below that tier gets HTTP 403 {"error":"paid feature","feature":"mixed","availableIn":"Starter","reason":"Included with Starter and up."}. Do not retry with the same value; it will not succeed until the tenant upgrades. minRating: 1-5 unlocks at Growth. A tenant below that tier gets HTTP 403 {"error":"paid feature","feature":"minRating","availableIn":"Growth","reason":"Included with Growth and up."}. Do not retry with the same value; it will not succeed until the tenant upgrades. hasPhotos: true unlocks at Growth. A tenant below that tier gets HTTP 403 {"error":"paid feature","feature":"hasPhotos","availableIn":"Growth","reason":"Included with Growth and up."}. Do not retry with the same value; it will not succeed until the tenant upgrades. textContains: unlocks at Growth. A tenant below that tier gets HTTP 403 {"error":"paid feature","feature":"textContains","availableIn":"Growth","reason":"Included with Growth and up."}. Do not retry with the same value; it will not succeed until the tenant upgrades. Link in bio: A Link in bio page lives at /@ on the app's host; always give the customer the url the tools return, as returned (free pages are assigned a short address and cannot choose one; from Starter a slug of 3-30 lowercase letters, digits or hyphens can be chosen and changed, reserved words, our own routes and brand names are refused, and so is a slug someone else holds; a custom address chosen on a paid plan stays with the page if the subscription ends, while the page is viewed or edited at least once a year, and changing it again needs a paid plan; a custom address can be changed once every 90 days, and the refusal names the day it can be changed again; after a downgrade, pages past the free plan's one stay live with their addresses but are read-only until the owner upgrades or deletes them; an unused page's custom address on a plan without custom addresses is released after a year and a notice). Renaming keeps the old address redirecting for 30 days, and an assigned address for good; a deleted page's address stays held for 30 days; a released dormant address redirects to the page's assigned one for 30 days; and no address a page gave up goes to another account until a year after that. Tools: create_bio_page, update_bio_page, add_bio_blocks, list_bio_pages, delete_bio_page, get_bio_analytics. The look: theme (bento, paper, forest, sunset) and mode (auto, light, dark), then style, an object of fixed choices (the first of each is the default look): font modern/editorial/friendly/typewriter; background glow/solid/gradient/picture; buttons card/filled/outline/soft; shape rounded/pill/square; avatarShape circle/rounded/square; avatarSize medium/small/large; density comfortable/compact; header center/side; plus accent, the brand colour as #rrggbb, and backgroundSourceId, the source whose newest picture a picture background blurs (left out: the page's own picture; with no picture at all a picture background shows the gradient). The owner's colour is never used as typed: it is darkened or lightened until the page's words and the button words on it read at 4.5:1 in light and dark, so the stored and the shown colour can differ. Fonts are system fonts (nothing downloads). No custom CSS, script or font files are accepted. accent and background picture are Starter and up (403 naming the plan below it, and dropped from the page after a downgrade); every other style choice is free. searchable false keeps a page out of search engines; pages below Starter are never indexed whatever it says. Fields: name (up to 60 characters), bio (up to 240), avatarUrl (an https image) or avatarSourceId (a source whose account picture to use), theme (bento, paper, forest, sunset), mode (auto, light, dark), footer (the "Made with TileSet" line; false needs Starter), blocks (up to 40, in order). Blocks, by type (link, social, posts, featured, reviews): link {title, url (http or https; javascript:, data:, a user name or password in the address, IP addresses, and a host spelled with look-alike letters from another script (a Cyrillic а in place of a Latin a) are refused), thumb? (a picture at the button's start: an https image link, or a JPEG of up to 200 KB sent as data:image/jpeg;base64,..., which is stored re-encoded at 96px and served from the page itself; a baseline JPEG of up to 1 megapixel, nothing after its end marker, its metadata dropped; a page holds at most 10 uploaded pictures, 100 KB together; API keys and MCP read an uploaded picture back as "uploaded", and sending "uploaded" for that block keeps it), thumbAlt? (up to 120 characters describing the picture for screen readers; leave it out when the button's words say it), icon? (one emoji in place of a picture; words, two emoji or an icon beside a picture are refused), color? (every plan: the button's own colour, a preset name, blue #2450FF, ink #171A21, sky #E7EBFF, forest #0F7A53, mint #E6F5EE, teal #0E7C86, plum #6B3FA0, coral #F07A66, amber #F0A63A, sand #F2E8D5, or any #rrggbb, stored as the hex; its words drawn in black or white, whichever reads better, never under 4.5:1), from?, until?, pinUntil? (epoch ms or an ISO date-time with its zone; Starter and up: a link shows only inside from/until and stays at the top until pinUntil)}; social {urls? (up to 12 profile links, drawn as icons), auto? (default true: every connected account's own profile is added)}; posts {sourceId, layout? (grid or carousel), count? (3-12), title?}; featured {sourceId, newDays? (1-30, default 7): the source's newest item as a big card, with a New chip while it is that recent}; reviews {sourceId of a google or testimonials source: the rating summary and one recent review, taking turns hourly}. Every block updates by itself when its source refreshes. Credits: a bio page costs nothing. It reads only what its sources already hold and never fetches from a platform; a view counts as a widget view for its sources, so they keep updating on their own schedule. One page on every plan, free included; up to 10 pages, scheduled and pinned links, and clicks and views past 7 days from Starter. A free account's page is not indexed by search engines. Link clicks and page views are counted (GET /v1/bio/:id/analytics). Quick path: setup_widget -> verify_install. Golden path underneath it: list_sources -> create_widget -> get_embed_code. Call describe_widget_options over MCP for this same option contract as structured JSON. Typical flow: connect_source, create_widget, get_embed_code, then insert the snippet into the site's HTML. Later, list_widgets finds an existing widget's id and current settings, update_widget changes a live widget in place, no re-embed needed, and delete_widget removes one. When talking to the user, refer to sources and widgets by their names (a source's label and platform, a widget's title and template, Feed grid or Review wall) and never show an id: a tool prints one after id= only so it can be passed to the next call. ## Credits Every account holds a credit balance and every refresh at a source's chosen speed spends from it (the free keep-alive below does not). Every plan adds an allowance once a month (a free account on its signup day; a paid plan adds its monthly allowance each paid period), and a top-up adds more. This is a budget on FRESHNESS and on nothing else: it never gates a source type, a widget option, an embed, a view, or any tool call in this API, except that a new live source whose first refresh the balance cannot cover is refused, and so is an update_source_now or webhook update the balance or the month's cap cannot cover (402, below). Credits per refresh, by source type: kick: 1 pinterest: 1 twitch: 2 youtube: 2 x: 3 google: 8 testimonials: free. Nothing is fetched from a platform, so it is never refreshed, never charged and has no update speed; a change shows on the widget within a minute, and update_source_now answers at once and spends nothing. A price is the upstream cost of that type, not a product tier. google is the expensive one because its reviews come from paid provider quota; the rest ride free platform APIs and are priced to bound volume. Prices can change. A scheduled change is listed here with its date, an increase is always scheduled at least 30 days ahead, and GET /v1/prices (public, no key) answers the table in force (cached up to 5 minutes). Update speeds: every source has one, a step id (updateEvery) from the steps its type offers, and the credits a month follow from it. At today's prices (step credits-a-month): kick and pinterest: 1h 720, 3h 240, 6h 120, 12h 60, 1d 30, 3d 10, 1w 4 twitch: 1h 1440, 3h 480, 6h 240, 12h 120, 1d 60, 3d 20, 1w 9 youtube: 1h 1440, 3h 480, 6h 240, 12h 120, 1d 60, 3d 20 x: 15m 8640, 1h 2160, 3h 720, 6h 360, 12h 180, 1d 90, 3d 30, 1w 13 google: 1d 240, 3d 80, 1w 34 x has its own fastest per plan, which applies where it is slower than the plan's own (next line), and costs 3 credits an update: Free weekly, Starter daily, Growth every 6 hours, Pro every hour, Scale every 15 minutes. Why: Each X update is a paid request, so faster updates are on higher plans. One account runs at most 10 x sources at every 15 minutes or faster; the next one takes the next slower step (the answer carries the step it got). Each plan also has a fastest speed, whatever the type offers: Free daily, Starter every hour, Growth every 15 minutes, Pro every 15 minutes, Scale every 15 minutes. A step faster than the plan's answers 400 naming the plan that offers it (the error's allowed lists the plan's own steps), and get_credits lists a type's steps on the account's plan as offered and the faster ones as locked. That is the upgrade for fresher feeds, the same whichever source matters most to the customer; relay it as that, not as an error. Why: Faster updates spend more credits and ask the platform for more, so the plan sets how often a feed can update. A step the plan allows can still be more than the credits sustain: update_source saves it all the same and says in its summary and note how often the credits really cover, and which plan keeps it; get_credits zones list every step of a source as ok, tight or locked, and get_source_schedule speeds word the same three as sustained, stretched or locked, the words the dashboard slider shows. After a plan change down, a speed the new plan does not offer runs at the plan's fastest at once and is changed to it on the source shortly after; the dashboard says so. A new source gets the fastest speed that keeps the account within its monthly allowance, or its type's slowest step when nothing faster fits. Name one with updateEvery on connect_source or POST /v1/sources (for a source the call creates) or setup_widget (also for a source it reuses). Change one with update_source or PATCH /v1/sources/:id {updateEvery}. A source is named after its account or business unless you pass label on connect; rename it with update_source {label} or PATCH /v1/sources/:id {label}. Read what the account spends with get_credits or GET /v1/credits (API key or session). Instead of an interval, a source can run on a calendar, on every plan, free included: update_source {schedule: {days: ["mon", "tue", "wed", "thu", "fri", "sat", "sun"], time: "HH:MM"}} in the account's time zone (set_credit_limits {timezone}); it counts toward the monthly total as a week over its days. schedule null goes back to updateEvery. Read a source's schedule, last update and next update with get_source_schedule or GET /v1/sources/:id/schedule. On Starter and up: update_source_now (POST /v1/sources/:id/update) updates a source at once and spends what a scheduled update costs; manualOnly true stops its scheduled updates entirely; create_source_webhook gives a secret URL that updates it when called with POST, for a CMS publish hook, Zapier or a cron service. Each source has a cooldown of 5 minutes between manual and webhook updates, the same on every plan and a guard against accidental repeats rather than a cost control (longer for some types: 60 minutes for google, 15 minutes for youtube, 60 minutes for x, 15 minutes for twitch and 15 minutes for kick; and x never more often than the plan's fastest for it, so a day on Starter) a webhook call inside it answers 202 skipped and spends nothing. Neither ever spends past the balance or the month's cap: one that cannot be covered answers 402 with reasons (cap first), cost, balance, capRemaining, capResetsAt, refillAt and fix, never a silent skip; a webhook's fix only points to the dashboard. A failed update is refunded and starts no cooldown, so a retry runs, except for google, youtube, x, twitch and kick, whose longer cooldown still applies because the failed call drew on the platform's quota; if the refund cannot be written at once, the answer carries refundOwed and the refund, with the cooldown's release, lands within one scheduled run. On a free plan these answer a paid-feature error, a manual-only source runs on its schedule, and an existing webhook URL answers 403 until the plan is paid again. The free keep-alive still refreshes a manual-only source, at no cost, so a live widget never loses its content. set_credit_limits {monthlyCap} caps a calendar month's spend (UTC): scheduled updates, update_source_now and webhooks all stop at it until the month turns, the free keep-alive still runs, and nothing on the customer's site goes blank. get_credits shows cap.spentThisMonth and a recent ledger. Example, for "update my YouTube feed every weekday at 9am and whenever I publish a blog post, and keep me under 2,500 credits a month": set_credit_limits {timezone, monthlyCap: 2500}, update_source {sourceId, schedule: {days: ["mon","tue","wed","thu","fri"], time: "09:00"}}, create_source_webhook {sourceId}, then give the person the URL to paste into their CMS's publish webhook. Top-ups and plans are bought by the person in the dashboard (Buy credits under Credits, plans under Plans), never by a tool: when credits run short, say so and point them there. Stretch-to-last: when the chosen speeds would spend the balance before the next refill, every feed in the account slows by the same factor so the credits last until the refill, instead of feeds stopping partway through the month. No setting changes and nothing fails; get_credits reports state "stretched" and the factor as paceFactor. The factor is recomputed every tick: a refill lowers or clears it, but if the chosen speeds cost more a month than the allowance it continues into the next month until a speed is lowered, a top-up lands or the plan is upgraded. The floor under every speed and every balance: EVERY source not paused for inactivity (below) is refreshed free of charge at least once per window, so no widget ever goes empty: 5 days for youtube sources, whose images are served from stored copies that expire, and 22 days for google, pinterest, x, twitch and kick sources, whose stored content expires on a longer clock. No step is offered that is slower than its type's window, since it would cost nothing. A twitch source is never shown more than 23 hours old (Twitch's terms allow a day): once its copy is that old, a widget's next view fetches it again free, whatever its speed or balance, and a Link in bio block shows nothing from it until its next update. A kick source follows the same day-old rule (Kick's terms), and a view reads its card again, free, at most every 2 minutes. What a free account gets: 60 credits a month, with no card and no extra step. A one-time first-month bonus of 60, so a new account starts at 120. Call it a bonus when you mention it: from the second month the refill is 60, and that is the plan, not a cut. An account created while checkout was still closed also got a one-time Early account bonus of 500 credits (ledger kind early_bonus; get_credits shows it as earlyBonus in the account's first month). Accounts created once checkout is open get none. Mention it only for an account whose get_credits or ledger shows it, and call it the Early account bonus. Up to 3 live sources (demo fixtures and testimonials do not count); a connect past that answers 409 naming Starter, which holds 25. An account already holding more keeps them. Fair use (every number is per account unless it says otherwise; each refusal says when it frees up, so relay that time and the why, never retry before it): New live sources: 8 in any 7 days on Free, 100 on Starter and up, on top of the source cap. Demo fixtures and testimonials do not count, and removing a source does not give a connect back; reconnecting a source the account already holds does not count. Why: Each new source is fetched from its platform straight away, so new connects are counted per week to keep updates fast for everyone. A few wrong ones are fine, and deleting a source does not give a connect back. Google places: 10 different places in any 30 days on Free, removed ones included (reconnecting one already used is fine); paid plans have no limit. Why: Google reviews come from a paid review data service, and every new place costs a full gather of its reviews, so a free account connects a limited number of different places a month, removed ones included. A new account created where many accounts were created the same day (by address or network) can connect 1 Google place for its first 3 days, or until a card is added under Credits (nothing is charged). Signing in and every other source work as usual. Why: Many accounts were created from the same network today, so new accounts from it start with fewer Google places for a few days. It never limits signing in or any other source, and adding a card (nothing is charged) lifts it at once. Business searches (connect_source with a google query that is a name, or a Maps link with no place in it): 40 a day per account and 80 per network, reset at 00:00 UTC. A Maps place link (a maps.app.goo.gl share link included) or a Place ID is one exact lookup and does not count; prefer one when the user has it. At a full set of Google places a name search is refused; reconnect a used place by its link or Place ID. X accounts: 10 different accounts in any 30 days on Free, removed ones included (reconnecting one already used is fine); paid plans have no limit. Why: X posts come from a paid data service, and every update of an X account is a paid request, so a free account connects a limited number of different X accounts a month, removed ones included. The whole platform connects about 250 new X accounts a day for free accounts. Past it, connect_source with an xHandle answers 503 saying so, and nothing is looked up or charged; try again after 00:00 UTC. Paid accounts are never refused. X sources already connected keep updating. Why: Looking up and fetching a new X account is a paid request, so the number of new X accounts connected each day is shared by everyone on TileSet. X sources already connected keep updating as usual. X account lookups (connect_source with an xHandle that has not been looked up today): 10 a day per account and 20 per network on every plan, reset at 00:00 UTC; past it the answer is 429 with reason x_lookup_day_limit and retryAt. A handle looked up in the last day, right or wrong, answers again without a lookup. Twitch channel lookups (connect_source with a twitchChannel not looked up today): the same 10 a day per account and 20 per network, counted apart from X's, reason twitch_lookup_day_limit. While this deployment's Twitch app is close to its per-minute limit, a new lookup answers 503 asking to try again in a minute. Kick channel lookups (connect_source with a kickChannel not looked up today): the same 10 a day per account and 20 per network, counted on their own, reason kick_lookup_day_limit. For a minute after Kick answers that this deployment's app is asking too often, a new lookup answers 503 asking to try again in a minute. The whole platform fetches about 5 new Google places a day for free accounts, at most 2 for one account. Past either, a new Google source still connects and its first fetch waits until after 00:00 UTC: the answer carries queued (REST) or a Waiting line (MCP), list_sources says waiting, and nothing is charged until it is fetched. Paid accounts are never held. Why: The first gather of a new place's reviews is the expensive part, so the number of new Google places fetched each day is shared by everyone on TileSet. Sources already fetched keep updating as usual. Monthly share (x and google): these types come from paid data services whose monthly limits TileSet shares. When this month's share runs low, their scheduled updates slow down for everyone, free accounts first and paid accounts last, and get_credits says so in platformNotes and its summary ("updates are slower this month"). Once it is used, until 00:00 UTC on the 1st: their scheduled updates wait, a new source of theirs connects on a paid plan with its first update waiting (queued, list_sources says waiting, nothing charged), a free account's new one answers 503 and nothing is looked up, and update_source_now answers 429 with reason monthly_share, why and retryAt (a webhook call answers 202 skipped). Widgets keep showing their last update and the free keep-alive still runs. Nothing to retry before retryAt. Why: X posts and Google reviews come from paid data services with monthly limits that TileSet shares, so TileSet paces those updates to last the month instead of letting them stop partway through. A source stops being refreshed after 14 days in which no widget or Link in bio page of its was loaded by a visitor, and starts again by itself the next time one is; a source never shown anywhere yet is not paused. youtube sources keep their free keep-alive while paused, so their images never go missing; the others keep the content they last showed, and one unseen for about a month is fetched again when it is next viewed (a Link in bio block within one scheduled run). This pause applies to free accounts only. A paid account's sources keep refreshing whether or not anyone views them, and every refresh still spends from its balance like on any other plan. On every plan: Unspent credits roll over: a monthly refill never takes the balance above 3 months' allowance (180 on free) plus the top-ups bought in the last 3 months, and a balance already above that is kept. Top-ups and bonuses always add in full, and a top-up never shrinks the next refill. A plan change inside a paid period counts that period's allowance once: an upgrade adds only what the new plan gives beyond what the period already added, and a downgrade takes the extra of the higher plan back from the balance at once (never below 0). Connecting a source is one of two moments the balance can REFUSE something (the other is update_source_now or a webhook, above): a live source whose first refresh the balance cannot cover, after holding back the first refresh of every source not fetched yet, is not created, on any plan, and the answer is a 402 naming the credits it needs, the date the next allowance lands (when it is known) and what adds more. Every other call works at any balance. The month's cap never refuses a connect: a source it cannot cover connects, waits for the cap to reset or be raised before it updates, and the answer carries a warning with the 402's fields (REST: a warning object on the source; MCP: a Warning line and a {"warning"} JSON line). A new google, youtube, x or pinterest source is fetched right after the connect answers and that first fetch spends the type's price like a scheduled update (refunded if it fails). Until then the source's lastFetchAt is empty: list_sources (GET /v1/sources) shows when it lands, or its lastError. What a paid plan adds each month: Starter 500 credits for $9, Growth 1,500 credits for $19, Pro 5,000 credits for $49, Scale 15,000 credits for $99. A top-up adds 1,000 credits for $5, and is offered only on an active paid plan (not free, paused or past due). A refunded or disputed payment takes its credits back, never below a zero balance: a top-up's in proportion to the money returned, and the payment for the plan's current month returned in full ends the plan at once and removes what is left of that month's allowance; other plan refunds change no credits. An inquiry about a payment takes nothing; a dispute (chargeback, money withdrawn) on any plan payment ends the plan at once and cuts the balance to one free month, and on a top-up takes that top-up's credits (ledger kinds refund and dispute; dispute_won gives back what a dispute took, less what a refund on that payment alone would have taken, when it closes in the account's favour). Plan prices are USD per month and the top-up's is one-off, all before tax; Plans in the dashboard shows them with the customer's own tax. A plan is bought from Plans in the dashboard, never by an agent. If Plans says checkout opens soon, checkout is closed on that deployment: tell the user a paid plan cannot be bought there yet instead of sending them to buy one. AN EMPTY BALANCE IS NOT AN ERROR. Apart from connecting a new live source and an update_source_now or webhook update (the 402s above), no call fails because of one; get_credits reports it as state "empty". No other tool call fails, no other HTTP status changes, and no field flips: `stale` in the content payload means the last upstream fetch FAILED and is never set by the balance. The widget keeps serving the content last fetched for it, on the customer's site, unchanged, and the free keep-alive above still runs. So a feed that is not showing something you expect is a budget, not a fault. Do not retry the call, do not reconnect the source, and do not recreate the widget: none of those is the problem and reconnecting costs the customer a credential round trip for nothing. What to do differently because of this: Connect the sources the customer actually asked for. One balance is shared across all of them, so every extra source raises the monthly total, and once the balance cannot carry that total to the refill, every feed slows. Prefer a second widget over a second source when the customer wants the same content shown twice. Widgets share their source's cache and cost nothing; sources are the thing that spends. Offer a slower speed before a bigger plan when a feed does not need to be fresh by the hour. If a customer asks why a feed looks behind, call get_credits first and relay its summary. ## Embedding and restyling The embed guide at https://app.tileset.com/embed-guide.txt covers the snippet's runtime on the page, the widget's DOM and class hooks, the --sbe- tokens, which CSS overrides win, what not to touch, theme, sizing to avoid layout shift, and the performance rules (one script per page, no re-fetching, no wrapper components). Read it before writing CSS or page code against a widget. ## Legal - [Terms](https://tileset.com/terms/) - [Privacy Notice](https://tileset.com/privacy/) - [Cookie Notice](https://tileset.com/cookies/) - [Processor Policy](https://tileset.com/processor-policy/) - [Privacy Requests](https://tileset.com/privacy-requests/)
