Add a TileSet feed to WordPress
Paste the TileSet snippet into a Custom HTML block and your Google reviews or YouTube videos show up on any WordPress page, with no plugin to install.
TileSet works on WordPress with no plugin at all: the snippet goes into a block, and the feed is hosted and refreshed on our side. If you would rather manage feeds inside WordPress itself, Smash Balloon’s WordPress plugins do that, and TileSet comes from the same team.
Add it to a page
- In TileSet, build your widget and copy the snippet. It is two lines: a script tag and a
div. - In WordPress, edit the page or post, add a Custom HTML block where the feed should go, and paste the snippet.
- Update the page and view it. The block editor’s preview does not run scripts, so check the live page.
The same works in a sidebar or footer: add a Custom HTML block (or widget) there instead.
Two feeds on one page
Load the script once and add one div per widget. A second copy of the script does no harm, but it is not needed.
If the feed does not show
- Your role. WordPress strips script tags from users who are not allowed to post unfiltered HTML, which on a standard site means anyone below Administrator, and on multisite anyone below Super Admin. Ask an admin to paste it, or ask them to put the script tag in the theme’s footer once and paste only the
divyourself. - Caching and optimization plugins. Some delay or combine scripts. If the feed appears only after a click or a scroll, exclude
tileset.js(orembed.json an older snippet) from JavaScript delay in that plugin’s settings. - The widget id. The
divneeds the real id from your dashboard, starting withw_.
