Codex + TileSet

What Codex gets
Enough to build widgets. Your content stays with TileSet.
Codex can see
- Your widgets and sources
- Their settings
- Counts, like how many reviews
- A preview, as visitors see it
Stays with TileSet
- Your posts and reviews
- Your Google and platform passwords
- Platform access tokens
Revoke any time
The access is listed under Agents & API in your dashboard, named after Codex. Remove it and access ends at once.
What lands on your page
Two lines. Your site never calls our API.
<script src="https://app.tileset.com/v1/tileset.js" async></script>
<div data-tileset="w_..."></div>- Loads after your pageThe script is async, so your page never waits for it.
- No cookiesThe widget sets none on your visitors.
- Never goes blankIf a platform is down, it keeps showing the last posts.
- Edit once, updates everywhereEvery page with the widget picks up the change. No re-paste.
Before you start
- Codex installed, in the CLI or the IDE extension, with your website’s project open.
- A Google account. Your TileSet account is created the first time you sign in, free, with no card.
- Access to the account you want to show: your Google Business listing or your YouTube channel handle.
What to ask for next
- “Show my Google reviews under the booking form, 4 stars and up.” (Star filters are on Growth and up.)
- “Make the YouTube feed 3 columns and switch it to the dark theme.”
- “Which TileSet widgets do I have, and where is each one used?”
A change to a widget shows up on every page that already has it. Nothing needs re-pasting.
Common questions
The sign-in tab did not open. Run codex mcp login tileset and it opens again. codex mcp list shows whether TileSet is connected.
Do I need an API key? No. The browser sign-in replaces it. API keys exist for scripts and CI jobs, and you create them under Agents & API if you need one.
Does my site need to call your API? No. The page needs the script tag and the div, nothing else. The script loads after your page and sets no cookies.
