Your first widget

From a connected source to a saved widget with its embed code, in the order the dashboard shows it.

You need one connected source first. Pick the page for your platform under Sources in the sidebar if you have not connected one yet. A new Google, YouTube, X, Twitch, Kick, Pinterest source fetches its first update as soon as you connect it, so the preview has something to show.

A source is named after the account it connects to, such as your YouTube @handle or your business. To change the name, click it on the Sources screen, type a new one and press Enter or click away (Escape puts the old name back). An agent can do the same with update_source.

Build it

  1. Open Widgets and press Create widget. The Source drawer at the top lists your connected sources; open it with Change source and pick the one to show.
  2. Where the source offers two templates, choose one under Show as, such as Reviews or Photos only for Google. See Templates.
  3. Set the Layout, columns, number of items, theme and what each card shows. See Layout and styling.
  4. Optionally add filters (reviews, photos only and posts). See Filters.
  5. Give it a title at the top and press Save. The title is for you; visitors do not see it.

On Starter and up, the Source drawer can add up to three more sources to the same widget: see Mixed feeds.

You can also type what you want into Describe the look you want, for example “dark, 4 columns, 12 items”, and the controls follow.

Get the embed code

Once saved, the widget has an Install tab with the snippet, a Copy code button and Where do I paste this?, short steps for WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, Webflow, Lovable, Odoo and any other site. The widget’s badge says Installed after a passed Check my page, until a page load arrives, then Live while pages load it, Not seen lately once no page has loaded it for two days, and Not on a page yet when no page has loaded it in the last 30 days. Once it has loaded on a live page, the Activity tab shows the site it was seen on and when it last loaded.

The guided first run after sign-in does the same in three steps: Connect (pick a source, or type a name or paste a link in the one box above the tiles), Create (a name, and the template where the source offers two) and Install (the snippet, where to paste it, and Check my page). Next step: Install the snippet.

Limits worth knowing

  • An account can hold up to 200 widgets.
  • An account can connect up to 25 sources, 3 of them live on the free plan.
  • One widget can sit on any number of pages. Change it once and every page updates.
  • Editing a widget later changes it on every page that uses it. Nothing needs re-pasting.
