Live preview
What the builder preview shows, how to see light and dark, and why it can differ from your live page.
The builder shows a live preview of the widget on a sample host page, next to the controls. It uses your source’s real content and updates as you change a control.
Light and dark
With Theme set to Auto, the live widget follows each visitor’s device setting, so Preview on above the preview switches the sample page between Light page and Dark page to check both outcomes. With Theme set to Light or Dark the widget looks the same on any page, so the switch is not shown.
What the preview does not show
- Your own page’s CSS. The widget brings its own system font and colours, but site-wide rules (on images or links, say) can still reach it, so check the live page after you paste the snippet.
Behaviour the preview reproduces
Once the widget loads, its tiles keep their shape while images arrive. Before that the div has no height, so give it a min-height on your page if you want no shift at all. Images load lazily, and the lightbox opens a post or video without leaving the page. You can open one in the preview to try it.
After you embed it
The widget’s Activity tab says whether the embed has been seen on a page, which site, and when it was last loaded, within a few minutes of the first load. For counts over time see Analytics, which is on Starter and up (see Plans and credits).
