How TileSet works
Connect a source, build a widget from it, paste two lines into your site. What each step does, and what keeps running afterwards.
TileSet has three parts, and the dashboard is organised around them: Sources (where your posts or reviews come from), Widgets (how they look on your page) and the snippet (the two lines that put a widget on a page).
The flow
- Sign in. Continue with Google, or ask for a one-time link by email. Your account is created on the free plan the first time, with no card. See Sign in and your account.
- Connect a source. Add a source, pick the platform and approve it on the platform’s own screen, or paste a link or handle for the public ones. Not sure which platform a link belongs to? Paste it into the one box at the top of Add a source (and of the first step in Guided Setup), Find a source or paste a link: TileSet says what it looks like, for example “Looks like a YouTube channel”, and Connect does the rest. A word typed there, such as “reviews”, filters the tiles instead. A link or word it cannot place gets a line saying so, with every tile below it and a link to the roadmap. A Testimonials source needs neither: you type in your customers’ words yourself. See the pages under Sources in the sidebar.
- Build a widget. Pick a template, a layout and a theme, and watch the live preview. See Your first widget.
- Paste the snippet. One
scripttag and onedivgo on the page where the feed belongs. See Install the snippet. Or let an AI agent do all of it: Connect an AI agent.
What keeps running after that
- Updates. TileSet fetches new posts or reviews on a schedule you choose and keeps the last good copy. Each update costs credits; testimonials need no updates and cost nothing. See Plans and credits and Update speed and schedules.
- Your widget. It loads after your page, sets no cookies and shows the last good posts if a platform has a bad day. Page views are never counted against a limit.
The dashboard
The sidebar is grouped as Build (Widgets, Sources), Grow (Analytics), Connect (Agents & API) and Account (Plans, Credits, Settings). Help sits at the foot of the sidebar, and Settings is also in the user menu.
A new account gets a Get set up checklist, as a card at the top of Widgets and Sources until your widget is on a page, and at the top of the bell: connect a source, create a widget, install it on your page and check it (the same three steps as the first-run guide), and, as an optional extra, share a testimonial link or a Link in bio page. Each step ticks itself off from what is really on your account, and each open step links to where you do it. Press Hide to remove it; it also goes by itself a day after the third step is done. If the dashboard cannot load your sources and widgets, it says so with a Try again button rather than showing an empty account; the widgets on your site are not affected.
The reasons behind these choices are on the marketing pages: Features, Fast widgets that never go blank and Safe by default.
