Pinterest

Show the newest Pins of a public Pinterest profile or board, as a photo grid.

Connect it

  1. Open Sources and press Add source, then pick Pinterest.
  2. In Profile or board link, paste a profile link (like pinterest.com/name/), a board link (like pinterest.com/name/board-name/) or type @name. Any country’s Pinterest address works, like uk.pinterest.com or pinterest.co.uk.

There is nothing to authorize: TileSet reads the public feed Pinterest publishes for every profile and board. No key, no sign-in to Pinterest and no approval, on every plan. The source is named after the profile or board automatically.

Some links are refused, and the message says what to do:

  • A link to a single Pin, or to a section inside a board: paste the board link.
  • A pin.it short link: paste the full profile or board link instead.
  • A secret board.
  • A profile or board that does not exist: check that the link opens on pinterest.com when you are signed out.

Through an agent, use connect_source with { "type": "pinterest", "pinterestUrl": "..." }, or setup_widget with source set to pinterest and a query. Through the API, POST /v1/sources takes type pinterest, "mode": "live" and pinterestUrl.

What is fetched

The 24 newest Pins. Each tile is the Pin’s picture, 736 pixels wide, and links to the Pin on pinterest.com. It carries the Pinterest icon by default; the Platform icon setting in the builder turns it off. When captions are on, they are the Pin’s title and description.

Not shown: save or comment counts, a profile picture and ratings. A video Pin shows its picture, with no playback.

The Feed grid template works (see Templates), as a grid, masonry, carousel or bento layout. The Review wall is not offered for Pinterest. A Pinterest source can join a mixed feed on a feed grid, like other photo sources.

How often it updates

Every hour at the fastest on Starter and up (daily on Free), slower steps down to weekly, at 1 credit per update, like an RSS feed. See Update speed and schedules and Plans and credits.

Reconnecting

Nothing to reconnect. If the profile or board is deleted or made secret, the source row shows the error and the widget keeps its last Pins.
